If you have inadvertently responded to a fake or phishing email, it is important that you take the following steps:
1. Report the incident to the police in digital format. This will increase the likelihood that the bank will block the account in question and, if possible, refund the money to the person concerned.
2. Have you transferred any money? Report this to your bank so that they can block the account in question.
